Army chief set to review security situation on his 2-day visit to Manipur

THE Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, is scheduled to visit the strife-torn state of Manipur.
This will mark the Army chief's first visit to the state since he assumed the role of the 30th COAS on June 30, 2024.
Sources said Dwivedi will embark on a two-day visit to Manipur from August 23.
"The chief will review the security situation by meeting senior Army ground commanders in the state. He is also expected to engage with the senior leadership of other security forces," said the sources.
