Upgrade of Vryheid Hospital to regional facility welcomed

DA, a solid partner in KwaZulu-Natal’s Government of Provincial Unity (GPU), welcomes the announcement that Vryheid Hospital will be upgraded to a fully-fledged regional hospital — the first of its kind in the Zululand District.
During last year’s festive season preparedness oversight inspections, conducted by members of KZN’s Health portfolio committee, we witnessed firsthand the challenges faced in the district due to the absence of a comprehensive package of services, such as those offered by regional hospitals.
