AS I embark on my 25th year of writing daily columns for The Mercury, it's a tradition for columnists to reflect on the past year.
Here are some broad principles I've found to be true, and Î invite readers from Southern Africa and beyond to share their insights with me:· Life is simultaneously beautiful and brutal. It is wiser to embrace both as fully as is humanly possible. Attempting to reject life's inevitable brutality seems to delay deep appreciation and awareness of its beauty.
