Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla used social media to incite violence - State

FORMER President Jacob Zuma attended court to support his daughter.

(MK PARTY X)

The trial was attended by Zuma-Sambudla's father Jacob Zuma and several party supporters.

Żuma-Sambudla has been charged with incitement to commit terrorism and two counts of incitement to commit public violence related to her social media posts in the period between June 29 and July 2021 during the unrest.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges and Advocate Dali Mpofu, who is acting for her, said his client would not be making any statement at the start of the trial. However he said there was the bail affidavit that she had submitted when she applied for bail.

Senior State Advocate Yuri Gangai said in his opening statement that this was not an "ordinary case", it was a case about the "power of words".
