lead coach Graeme Murty hailed his young side's “resilience and mentality”, despite Monday's 4-2 defeat to Colchester United.Although the Black Cats produced a first-half comeback with goals from Tom Proctor and Jaydon Jones, two second-half strikes from the hosts meant the Lads finished Group H in second place.
However, with a squad that included seven first-year and seven second-year scholars, the Lead Coach was “thoroughly pleased" with his side's efforts.
Murty told safc.com: “Overall, I'm really pleased with our performance.
“We intentionally brought a really young team to experience coming to a stadium and playing against more mature athletes.
