Work starts on retailer's new stores

LIDL is preparing to open two new supermarkets in the North East, creating around 80 jobs.

Construction has officially started on the new stores with doors set to open within months.
The latest additions to Lidl's growing number of North East stores will be located on Stoddart Street in Shieldfield, Newcastle, and Lobley Hill Road in Bensham, Gateshead. Both stores will include the retailer's award-winning bakery.
