EDDIE Howe watched on as England made easy work of Wales on Thursday night, and witnessed one of his prize assets - and a partnership he would love to have back at Newcastle United.

- By LEE RYDER Chief Newcastle writer

Howe had spoken glowingly of Elliot Anderson last week when asked if he would like to sign the midfielder back and pretty much admitted he'd do it at a heartbeat.

During their time together at St James' Park, Gordon and Anderson were close pals and would often spend time with each other off the field.

But on a mild autumn night the pair were allowed to light up the Wembley stage during an intense British clash in the capital, and both relished it.
