EAGLES LAND AMERICAN TALENT TO BOOST SQUAD IN A ‘MUST-WIN’ GAME

THE Newcastle Eagles fly into Bulgaria to take on Spartak Pleven in a crucial European North Basketball League group game.

After three defeats from three games in the competition, the Eagles can ill-afford to slip up tonight.

But they are going into the 5pm game in form and with confidence high. Three domestic wins in a row, including two in the SLB Trophy group, which meant Newcastle have qualified for the semifinals, have given them a boost.

Head coach Marc Steutel reflected on the winning run: “I'm elated, absolutely elated. We went through a very difficult patch but the guys have stayed the course and stayed professional. I think we're showing that we're trending in the right direction and playing the right way.
