The all-rounder was the standout performer, one of few to emerge with any credit from a disappointing County Championship season which ended in a final day relegation to division two.

Sunderland-born Raine was awarded with the Paul Collingwood Medal alongside Rothesay County Championship Player of the Year as he took 44 red ball wickets, while adding vital contributions with the bat, including a century against Yorkshire last week.
