Procter & Gamble to shed 7,000 jobs across the world

UNITED States-based Procter & Gamble has announced plans to cut up to 7,000 jobs from its global operations over the next two years as part of a restructuring programme.

The company, which has a number of sites in the North East, unveiled the plans during a strategy update on yesterday.

The multinational manufacturing giant said it would be reducing its current non-manufacturing workforce by about 15% but could not say where the cuts would come.
