Man set to run 300 miles in 10 days for charity

A DETERMINED man is set to take on 10 ultramarathons in 10 days for charity, before finishing off his mammoth challenge by participating in the Great North Run.

Greg Watson, 42, completed seven marathons in just one week last year, but he wanted to take things to a whole new level this time around.

Greg, who only started running in 2019 to relieve stress, is going from his home town of Newbury in Berkshire to Newcastle, raising money for two causes very close to his heart, Alzheimer's Research UK and Sophie's Journey.

On his reasons for supporting these charities, Greg said: “We lost my grandad to Alzheimer’s, which is such a cruel disease, as it means that you lose the ones you love, but you also lose them before that because of the impact it has.
