Man held as police probe teen assault

A man has been arrested in connection with a Bank Holiday assault that left a teenager in a critical condition in hospital.

The incident took place in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday at around 1.20am outside a shop in Collingwood Street in Newcastle city centre.
