Man arrested as police probe suspected arson

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after three flats were allegedly set alight in Newcastle.

On Sunday night, emergency services were called to Dean House on Tumulus Avenue, Walker, after reports of the fires.
Later that evening, a man was reportedly sighted attempting to set fire to several parked cars in the Foss-way area. A 51-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with both reports.
