SUNDERLAND boss Regis Le Bris kept his cards close to his chest regarding his team selection ahead of the Premier League opener against West Ham United.

- By MATTY HEWITT

However, the Black Cats boss did reveal he'd make a late decision on the latest trio of new signings - Marc Guiu, Arthur Masuaku and Omar Alderete.

The new arrivals have not yet featured for the Wearsiders since arriving from their respective clubs, though have trained with the first-team this week.

Le Bris said at his pre-match press conference: “The final decision will be late. They came this week so we will have to see if they are ready. To start or just the final part of the game? We'll see tomorrow.

“I think with Marc, Arthur and Omar we are going to have the opportunity to select them. I think it might be a little bit tough to start because of their fitness levels and because they have not had much time with their teammates.

“So it might be a little bit early for them to start but that is a decision we will make on Friday morning”

Alderete is the latest of those new arrivals, joining on a £10.5m deal plus add-ons from Getafe, bolstering Sunderland's options in the heart of defence.
