TYNEMOUTH'S distinctive seven-storey First World War watchtower is in line for an internal refurb, pending council approval.

North Tyneside Council has received an application to improve the current layout of the living space.
According to a heritage, design and access statement, compiled by Chris Whiteman Architects, the plans include relocating the kitchen to the fourth floor and bedrooms to the ground, first, second and third floors.
