Italians eye move for Black Cats star

SERIE A side AS Roma are reportedly keen on a £15m move for Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil this summer, according to reports.

The Black Cats academy graduate was one of the star performers for his side last season, helping his boyhood club win promotion back to the Premier League.

Neil turned down a new contract with the Wearsiders last summer amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding a new head coach.

However, both parties were relaxed about the situation, with Sunderland sporting director Kristjaan Speakman admitting he was keen to start contract talks with the midfielder once the season was over.
