STAR EXPECTED ON FLIGHT AS SPECULATION SWIRLS

- By LEE RYDER

NEWCASTLE United striker Alexander Isak is still scheduled to fly with the Magpies on their Far East tour today.

Eddie Howe made his views clear on Isak rejoining the squad, and nothing is believed to have changed from that stance since Sunday.

The Magpies will jet to Singapore for the first leg of their main summer tour as the club take part in commercial activities with fans ahead of a high-profile clash with the team that wanted to sign Isak so badly last season in Arsenal.

The encounter takes place at the National Stadium on Sunday (12.30pm UK time), but it remains to be seen whether Isak is involved. Isak returned to Benton after sitting out the clash with Celtic at the weekend but only took part in “light training” on Tuesday.
