Immigrant hotel claim slammed as 'fake news'

CLAIMS that a former industrial facility in Northumberland is being converted to use as a holding area for illegal immigrants have been rubbished by officials.
Work ongoing at the Tommee Tippee site on the Northumberland Business Park in Cramlington sparked the rumours, which spread like wildfire across the town.
However, Northumberland County Council has confirmed that there are no plans for this to happen.
Converting the property would require a change of use planning application, which has not come forward.
Furthermore, pharmaceutical company Sterling Pharma Solutions, which has an existing presence in the town, has confirmed it is taking over the building.
