Forget the league form, urges boss Armstrong

GATESHEAD manager Alun Armstrong has insisted his side still believe they can cause a major FA Cup upset against Walsall despite their dismal league form.

Alun Armstrong after his Gateshead side beat AFC Wimbledon in the last round
The Heed secured their place in the second round with a shock win at League One AFC Wimbledon.
Five weeks on, that remains Gateshead's last win in any competition after they suffered five consecutive league defeats to slide into the National League relegation zone.
More worryingly, Armstrong's side have conceded 16 goals during that time and only found the net on two occasions as the momentum caused by their surprise win against Wimbledon has eroded.
