SIR Terry Farrell, the Newcastle-raised architect who has designed some of the world’s most daring buildings, has died at the age of 87.

- OLIVIA SHEED Reporter

Farrells, the architecture practice he founded, yesterday announced his death “with deep sadness” saying: “Terry was frequently called a maverick, radical and a nonconformist which he relished.”

Born near Manchester but brought up in Newcastle, Sir Terry began his architectural career at the Newcastle University School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, where he graduated in 1961, going on to study urban planning in Philadelphia.
