Until today. When I exited the Foresters Arms in West Sleekburn, Northumberland, then sat in their car park bawling like a baby.

I'd popped in with a couple of Easter Eggs, because a friend had shared their Facebook page appeal for donations.

I didn’t know any of the details, just that Jim and Sue, the pub owners, were aiming for 700 Easter egg donations.

When I got there, it was like Willy Wonka had set up shop in Northumberland.

Crates of chocolate eggs abounded as far as the eye could see.
