Eagles historic Euro run takes centre stage

PROUD Newcastle owner Paul Blake insists there’s never been a better time to showcase the very best of British basketball - with the Eagles’ famous run to a first European final the focus of a new documentary.

Soaring Into History: From Newcastle to a European Final Four chronicles the Super League Basketball (SLB) franchise's remarkable journey to the 2025 European North Basketball League (ENBL) final in Slovakia.

But the fascinating film will be premiered on DAZN later this month against the backdrop of a bitter split between SLB and the sport's governing body, the British Basketball Federation (BBF).

Last month SLB chiefs filed papers at the High Court in London alleging that the BBF has: breached UK competition law; abused its dominant position; and breached its duties as a sports governing body to act rationally, fairly and lawfully.
