Damaged platform remains closed

PLATFORM
Two at Jesmond Metro Station remains closed as a precaution after it was damaged on Monday night.The damage was caused by a train that had been withdraw due to a fault with its sliding step at Pelaw, which prompted a service suspension of over two hours between Haymarket and South Gosforth.
The train’s step scraped the platform at Jesmond as it was returned to the depot at South Gosforth.
No one was on the train at the time, nor was anyone injured in the incident.
