CRAIG Cook and Drew Kemp proved to be a winning combination as Berwick Bandits opened their account in the BSN Series.
They dominated the home scoring and then combined for the heat-15 maximum win which finally saw off a dogged, patchwork Monarchs side.
Already forced to field four guests, the visitors were further hampered when stand-in skipper Justin Sedgmen aggravated a longstanding hand injury and had to withdraw from the meeting after three rides.
Cook was back to his mercurial best for the home side, dropping only one point to Oskar Polis in heat 13.
