A PRIME Newcastle hotel is undergoing a £2m refurbishment overseen by a new manager.

Malmaison Newcastle opened in the former Co-operative Society Warehouse on the Quayside in 1998 and has 122 rooms and suites across six floors of the hotel.

Now the bedrooms in the building, originally built in the late 1890s, are set for a major makeover, which is set to be completed in the autumn.

The significant investment is part of the brand’s wider refurbishment project to revamp its 18 properties.
