Maldives nets MVR 127K in vape fines as crackdown intensifies

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed that the total amount collected in fines for various vape-related offenses in July, amounts to MVR 127,000, Maldives media report said yesterday.

According to the MPS, 22 individuals were fined for various vape-related offenses in July.

Starting from 15 December 2025, the use and import of vapes has been banned in the Maldives. The law also includes provisions for imposing hefty fines for vape use.

The police institution recently released statistics on the fines imposed under the law in July.
