Committee rejects preliminary objections raised on behalf of IGP Tennakoon

The Committee of Inquiry to inquire and report its findings on IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon in respect of acts of gross abuse of power had rejected objections raised on behalf of the respondent IGP, Director Legislative Services / Director Communication (Acting) of Parliament Jayalath Perera, said.

The Committee, chaired by Supreme Court Judge P.P. Surasena, comprises Justice W. M. N. P. Iddawala and E. W. M. Lalith Ekanayake, Chairman, National Police Commission. It met in Parliament on Monday (19) and IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon appeared before the investigation committee for the first time.
