Village rocked as parent firm's collapse hits busy restaurant

The Kirkton Inn has served the people of Dalrymple and visitors to the village for the last 150 years but it now faces an uncertain future after it was suddenly closed last Monday.

Earlier last month, insolvency processes were started by the inn’s parent company Eurotrade Windows after the firm's financial troubles deepened.

A number of regulars at The Kirkton Inn, as well as guests from further afield, have taken to social media to express their sadness at the news.

Bernie Rooney said: "Must be heartbreaking for John and Heather. Spent fortune renovating the Kirkton and the family run Eurotrade. Been trading without a break for over 35 years and gave many a young lad a job over the years. "Wish them all the best in an unfortunate situation."
