I am interested in a much-recommended exhibition of works of art featuring the human back at a gallery in Deauville, Normandy.

A Vu[e]s de dos, or ‘‘Seen from behind’’, is a fascinating exhibition at Les Franciscaines gallery in the handsome French resort of Deauville. The curator, Annie Madet-Vache, says: “This exhibition proposes to understand why the back – when it becomes the main subject of an œuvre – appears so late in the history of Western art.” I am also planning to visit before it closes on 31 May.
