JUDGE SENTENCES 'REMORSELESS' MURDERER WHOSE VICIOUS ATTACK LED TO DEATH OF HIS ELDERLY NEIGHBOUR

David Hill said: “God bless the NHS” as he was jailed for the brutal murder of his neighbour Kurt Giwisser.

David Hill, 57, of South Cross Road, Huddersfield, was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 17 years for the murder of Kurt Giwisser, 77, in 2023.

Hill was first arrested on suspicion of assault and was then arrested on suspicion of murder after Kurt's death in April 2023. Kurt had been assaulted by Hill on February 21 that same year and was taken to hospital for treatment for head injuries. He was discharged but later required surgery and lost his life after complications.

Leeds Crown Court heard on Thursday Hill had held a grudge against his neighbour after he returned a paintbrush to him, and he did not like the state of it.
