Teenagers get rolling in film industry

PALS RAISED £5K TO MAKE MOVIE ABOUT PSYCHOLOGY OF WARFARE

A PAIR of Kirklees teenagers raised £5,000 to make a short film about Britain being in the midst of World War III.

Danny Taylor and Isaac Thornton, both 17 and from Skelmanthorpe, have written and directed a 35-minute film called The Cards We're Dealt.

The film is about a pair of teenagers barricading themselves in a home, faced with the choice of whether they should take another person’s life. It aims to examine the psychology of warfare and survival.

The creative duo raised the money themselves through a mix of crowdfunding, grants from Skelmanthorpe and Shipley councils, and a private donation.

They attend creative and performing arts college Capa College - but they made the movie completely separate from the college in order to retain ownership.
