FED-UP RESIDENTS SAY FLY-TIPPERS ROUTINELY TARGET STREETS AND WANT ACTION TO CATCH THE CULPRITS
Food waste at a play area
TWO Huddersfield streets are repeatedly used as a “dumping ground”, according to fed-up residents.
Piles of discarded household waste, as well as unwanted mattresses and rotting food, are a regular sight on the pavements of both Alder Street and Calton Street, which run parallel to one another in Hillhouse, Huddersfield.
On Calton Street, near a play area, a “rat infestation” was reported several weeks ago, according to a local councillor.
On Tuesday residents reported the presence of a large pile of black bin bags, some of them spilling their contents, on both streets.
Discarded mouldy bread could been seen near to a play area.
