Goals from Tamara Wilcock and Layla Proctor ensured the Greens took all three points, but they were made to work for the result against a well-organised Lewes side that posed a threat on the counterattack.
Wilcock's composed first half finish gave Argyle a deserved lead before Proctor sealed the result with a late header against her former club deep into stoppage time. The win continues Argyle's momentum heading into a busy run of fixtures this month.
Head coach Marie Hourihan was pleased with the way her side imposed themselves early in the contest. “Two-nil win, clean sheet, points on the board and that was a priority coming into today,” she said. “I thought that’s probably the best we've started the first part of the game in quite a long time.”
Argyle began brightly and quickly looked to assert control through possession and attacking intent down the flanks.
