Charlotte Whitmore's first-half strike set the tone for the Greens, before Phoebie Poole doubled the advantage from the penalty spot after the break, sealing a deserved win built on energy, pressing, and attacking intent.

"We knew coming into the game today it was going to be really difficult," said Argyle head coach Marie Hourihan. "Coming to their home venue where they've got a really good record, we knew it would be a battle but I thought the players handled that challenge superbly."

The opening stages proved to be a tightly contested affair, with both sides battling for early control. Argyle came close when Layla Proctor's header, from a free-kick deep inside the Cheltenham half, drifted narrowly wide of the post. Moments later, quick interplay down the left created another opportunity as Poole's glancing header flashed just wide.

The Greens continued to press and Tianna Teisar's persistence almost paid off when she charged down a clearance from Cheltenham goalkeeper Charlotte Haynes, only to see the loose ball roll agonisingly past the open goal.
