USA Select prove too strong for Raiders

ON Sunday, Plymouth Raiders hosted the USA Select touring team led by Coach Sean Kilmartin.

Kilmartin is no stranger to Plymouth, returning to the City for the first time since 2019, with the South Carolina-based organisation bringing their latest generation of talent to face off against a Raiders side entering National Division 2 later this month.

Having beaten Cardiff the night before, the US side were on match day three of the UK tour. The game opened with a big three point shot from USA star man Tate Mulkey who finished the game with 19 points alongside team mate Spencer Bain weighing in with 13 points, both proving too hot to handle for the Raiders Guards, their first competitive outing on the court in five months. The tone was set from the outset with the American team lacking any real size, opting for a fast, high press tactic to take advantage of Raiders lack of match practice which paid dividends.
