NEW GENERATION NEED TO 'FALL BACK IN LOVE' WITH EXPERIENCE

Traders' plea for a new generation of shoppers

A PLYMOUTH husband-and-wife running a long-standing stall in the city’s market believe the new generation need to fall back in love with shopping as they reflect on almost 20 years in business.

The pair have been in the same spot for 19 years and seen a lot of changes. Heidi and Adam Fielder are two of the most familiar faces in Plymouth Market which they describe as the city’s “original shopping mall”. They said they are “totally blessed with their customers” and although the “market is changing” they’ve evolved to keep up with the times.

During the week the market is still a busy spot, but not as bustling as it was some years ago. The rise of supermarkets stamped out a lot of the groceries stalls that traded there, although a few are still going strong today.
