Thousands expected at music fest

PLYMOUTH Albion's rugby stadium is being transformed into the site of a major music festival, with thousands of people expected this weekend.

A large stage has already been installed on the pitch and huge speakers and video screens will go up before the start of the three-day Ruckus 2025 Music, Food and Beer festival on Friday, July 4.

Over three days, more than 20 acts will be featured at Brickfields, in Devonport, including some very famous names. Tom Meighan, the original frontman of chart-toppers Kasabian, headlines on Saturday, playing many of his old band's hits.

And Sunday's top bill stars, The Feeling, are currently releasing tickets for their forthcoming 20th anniversary tour, which are expected to sell out fast.

But Plymouth fans can see them first, and with support from Neville Staple of ska heroes The Specials and Fun Boy Three. The festival also showcases three bands - Elvana, Land of the Giants and The Barefoot Bandit - hot from well-received sets at last weekend's Glastonbury Festival.

THE BANDS

Elvana and the Barefoot Bandit both support Tom Meighan on Saturday, along with Cardinal Black, Showhawk Duo, William the Conqueror and the Busketeers. Land of the Giants can be seen on Sunday, along with local heroes Mad Dog Macrea, and Anysley Lister, rePunk'd, and Adam Sweet Band, providing backup to The Feeling and Neville Staple.
