CHRIS DAWSON PREDICTS SUNNIER FUTURE

- By WILLIAM TELFORD

CHRIS Dawson's Plymouth-based The Range superstore chain has scraped back into profit following two years of heavy losses.

But the billionaire former market trader is predicting a sunnier future for his business on the back of sales increases and an expected payday from taking over 53 former Homebase stores after that company hit the rocks.

Derriford-headquartered CDS (Superstores) Ltd, which trades as The Range, has reported a “successful period for the business” with “significant revenue growth” and a return to pretax profits. This was a meagre £541,000, but it came after a near £23m loss last year and an £18m deficit in 2023.
