Stevenson checked the 15-darter with a 141 checkout and added one of his two 180s in that breathtaking win that saw him end his night on 13 ton-plusses.

Matt Vosper made it three maxis for the home side, whilst Shaun Dring chipped in with 11 tons throughout the contest to play a decent supporting role. Vosper was a 3-0 winner with one leg tumbling at the first time of asking from 106 with Chris Beale's 95 that came in another 3-0 success sitting as third best in the finishing stakes.

Neil White (27.33) found legs in 18 and 16 darts, as well as a 111 combination outshot during a 3-0 win that came in a 7-4 success for Octagon at Cherry Tree D. That finish bettered an 82 from Phil Hoyle, which was declared the home side's best checkout, whilst the singles phase is where all of the best action took place after the away team edged the team games 3-2.

Lee Hellings completed his 18-ton haul during the first individual game that ended with a 3-2 win over Stan Preen. Ten-ton hitter Preen put up his side's only maximum in that contest, which also saw both players finish a leg in just 17 darts.

Nick Bryant threw an 18-darter during his 3-0 success before 12-ton man Fred Goldsmith stepped up to secure a 3-1 triumph, thanks in large part to legs in 16 and 17 darts. His victim was Dave Lee, who ended the night as his defeated home team's top scoring player with 13 ton-plusses.
