Prostate screening could have saved me anguish

I WAS appalled at the decision to reject prostate screening which could have saved me over 18 years of anguish, treatments and several side effects that my family and I suffered over this period.

Eighteen years ago I went down to my local GP practice at Milehouse explaining all the symptoms that I had with regards to getting up several times a night to go to the toilet and the constant need to urinate during the daytime. At this time I was unaware of a PSA blood test, which determines the likelihood of prostate cancer being present and was then told that I had an enlarged prostate for which I was offered tablets but I refused them.
