IT is an exciting end to the 2025/26 season for Plymouth Argyle’s men's and women's teams with both still with promotion in their sights, writes Chris Errington.

Tom Cleverley's Argyle men's team are going into their 46th and final League One game of the campaign away to Northampton Town on Saturday with a chance of making it into the playoffs.

The Pilgrims will need to beat bottom-of-the-table and already relegated Northampton and hope that both Stevenage and Luton Town fail to win, at home to Wigan Athletic and away to Bolton Wanderers respectively.

Meanwhile, Marie Hourihan's Argyle women's team have already secured runners-up spot in the FA WNL Southern Premier Division, finishing a point behind champions Watford.

The Greens will now take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in a playoff at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday, May 4 with the winners promoted to WSL 2.

There was a celebration of the success so far of both men's and women's teams when Argyle held their 2025/26 awards night at Home Park.

A number of prizes were given out, with the men's Supporters' Player of the Year being won by on-loan Charlton Athletic defender Alex Mitchell, while the players' award went to Malachi Boateng.
