The Herald

|

November 26, 2025

A LEADING aggregate company which runs a limestone quarry on Elburton Road in Plymouth is proposing an extension of 32 hectares to increase its output tenfold.

- By ALISON STEPHENSON

Holcim UK Ltd wants to extend to the north of Hazeldene Pit at Moorcroft Quarry.

The planning application site contains a mixture of agricultural, residential, retail, industrial and leisure land, including Plymouth Golf Centre and driving range, as well as woodland.

The company has requested an opinion from Plymouth City Council on what information it should contain within an environmental impact assessment, as part of the planning process.
