O'Brien set off the fireworks with a 16-ton haul that led Cherry Tree C to a 6-5 Steve Chapman 501 League victory at Bar Mez.O'Brien's teammate, Martin Pearson, provided cover fire with ten ton-plusses, whilst both 180s came from the narrowly defeated home side.
Lee Rodmell joined Mike Bulmer in achieving that feat as O'Brien opened the singles with a 16-darter in a 3-1 win.
The match result was left on a knife-edge as the scores were locked at 5-5 going into the last singles, as Dan Capel brought home the bacon with a 3-1 triumph.
Scott Wapshott contributed to the eleven 180s fired between Cherry Tree A and Plymstock Club on his way to 15 ton-plusses in an 8-3 win for his side.
Wapshott's brace of maximums was matched by Simon Washington and Jason Pinkerton, who himself ended his night on ten tons.
Solitary three treble visits were also plundered by teammates Mike Whatley and Paul Gavican, whilst the home side also added to the 180 total.
Martin Nicholas put up 12 tons, including a maximum, and Roger Backway would've been left stranded on nine tons if it wasn’t for his 180 that ticked his tally over to ten.
Brad Simpson finished off the 180 hitting, and Mark Bell matched Nicholas’ 12 tons with a duodectet of his own.
At the business end, the game was lit up by Washington and Simpson sharing an absolute classic in which no leg went beyond six visits to the dartboard.
Simpson fired two legs in 18 whilst Washington prevailed 3-2 thanks to a brace of 17 darters and a 136 checkout that ended a 15-dart leg.
Mike Whatley rounded off the individual phase with a 3-0 win that contained a third 17-darter of the night for the visitors.
Lewis Dare put up 14 tons including one of the four maximums in the match, as Raffles were beaten 7-4 by Cherry Tree B.
