New play is like city's version of Horrible Histories

PRODUCTION COMES BACK AFTER DEBUT 25 YEARS AGO

A COMICAL look at Plymouth's long association with the sea will entertain theatre goers in Britain's Ocean City this weekend.

The production Time and Tide is suitable for "fun lovers of all ages" and will peek at the city's relationship with the deep during the past 1,000 years.

The show sold out when it was first produced in the bar at the Barbican Theatre in 2000 as a celebration of the new millennium, and is returning again as a 25th anniversary Christmas edition.

Critics including The Herald's legendary reviewer Bill Stone called it “witty”, “fast-moving”, “a farrago of fun” and “90 minutes of foolery with more froth than a head of beer.”
