Labour should just scrap the Welfare Bill

WHILST it's clear we need to bring down the welfare bill - it is expected to hit £100bn by 2030 - the way the Labour Government has gone about has been shambolic.

Starmer committed two huge climb downs in a week, abandoning all its meaningful reforms, and saw his majority slashed to 75.

Labour's Welfare Bill has been rendered pointless - they should just scrap the bill and start again.

This calamitous episode has resulted in the worst of both worlds, causing deep concern for the most vulnerable and failing to ensure that those who could work are able to.

It will cost the British taxpayer an estimated £5.5 billion and make more tax rises all but certain.
