NETWORKING EVENT HELPS BOOST THE LOCAL ECONOMY

- By WILLIAM TELFORD

MORE than a thousand people from across the county mixed business with pleasure at a huge event in Plymouth.

The 2025 Devon Business Show attracted a bumper crowd to Plymouth's Life Centre and was packed with more than 100 exhibitors, many with interactive displays. With games and puzzles, electric vehicles, live podcasts, giveaways, displays and plenty of refreshments there was lots for business people to enjoy. There was even an appearance from Santa Clause, advertising his Santa for Hire business, of course.

But it was also a chance for folk to meet and make business contacts, find out about companies and their products and services - and have a laugh. City College Plymouth brought an interactive screen where people could design a hairstyle, with student Charlee Violet saying: “This is great, we have been getting freebies and also learning stuff for our jobs.”

The show's partners included City College Plymouth, YGS Landscapes, Azets, Plymouth Citybus, Westcotts, Sir Fix-a-lock, Devon Contract Waste, Falcon Environmental Services, Devon and Somerset Local Skills Improvement Plan, Plymouth Active, Kaya Gallery, PL1 Events, and pbmedia. The event showcased the new Plymouth brand with a rising sun and arrow alongside the Britain’s Ocean City name.
