Go slow when time to mow

PATIENCE WILL PAY DIVIDENDS WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR PATCH
-
A GOOD TIDY: Clear up debris
WITH brighter days already on the way, March is when your lawn starts to stir.
After such a wet start to 2026, though, it pays to be cautious.
Saturated ground compacts easily, encouraging moss, poor drainage, and thin growth. A few well-timed jobs now will set the lawn up for spring.
Walk your lawn and judge the surface. If your heel sinks or you leave clear footprints, wait for a drier spell. Working on waterlogged turf can smear the soil and squeeze out vital air around the roots. If you must cross the grass, use boards to spread your weight, and keep pets and play off the wettest patches.
