NHS WORKER SHEDS EIGHT-AND-A-HALF STONE
A PLYMOUTH NHS worker who was “ashamed to go out” transformed her life by shedding nearly nine stone.
NHS worker Debbie Gatenby was a size 26 and struggling with her health with just walking leaving her out of breath. She said her weight also put her life outside of work under strain and she found it difficult to take part in activities with her grandchildren. After making the decision to lose weight, she said she is now 'living life to the full'.
Healthcare assistant Debbie, who has worked for the NHS for more than 46 years, said: “I was getting out of breath daily, just simply by walking; which was putting a real strain on not just my health but also my job. I wasn't able to take part in activities outside of work either, either due to my health or my confidence, which meant I missed out on precious time with my grandchildren.
