FORMER PRIMA BALLERINA INSPIRES YOUNGSTERS AT TRP
HUNDREDS of pupils from a dozen primary schools got to learn dance moves created by Dame Darcey Bussell at an event at Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Production & Learning Centre, TR2, which was held to mark World Mental Health Day.
Dame Darcey led a day of mood-boosting dance fitness workshops at TR2, with 360 children joining choreographed aerobic sessions, as well as being treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the theatre production facility.
Alongside her role as Chair of the Board for Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP), Darcey is the founder of Diverse Dance Mix (DDMIX) Trust, which partnered with children’s mental health charity, Place2Be, to run workshops for pupils from 12 primary schools from across the region.
