VOLUNTEERS TAKING GIFT BOXES OUT TO UKRAINE

Ukrainian children at an orphanage with Christmas shoeboxes delivered from Plymouth and Devon last year

TWO volunteers who between them have made 14 trips to help the people of Ukraine are making their 15th journey, this time to deliver Christmas shoeboxes to Ukrainian children.

Andy Evangelou and Maksym Litvinov already have around 300 shoeboxes which they plan on delivering in the first week of January to line up with the Ukrainian tradition.

Although Christmas begins on December 25 in Ukraine, it is a longer period of celebration, with some celebrating it in January to line up with the Julian calendar.

The two volunteers who have travelled more than twice around the world in total in delivering donations to Ukraine - are taking another caravan, but this time it will be filled with boxes for children.
